England Euro 2012 Squad Predictions (part2)

Midfielders

The axis of Lampard & Gerrard has surely not got another match in it. Although I think they will both go, I think Capello will look to freshen up the midfield. Whilst it is perfectly feasible that Jack Wilshire's form may dip this year, they is likely to find himself in Arsenal's beginning 11 &, given the query marks over the future of some of the clubs other midfielders, they will must take on more responsibility. Ought to the rise to that, he'll be in the England team next summer.

It is bad news for Gareth Barry who I think will miss out. Although a favorite of Capello's in the coursework of his time in charge, I don't think he'll get in to the Man City team this year which will probably cost him his place. I thought about Spurs' Tom Huddlestone but in the finish decided Michael Carrick will get picked in Barry's place. They will probably be Man Utd's main man in central midfield this season & his ability to keep play ticking over warrants a place in an international squad even if to date Capello has not looked favorably on him.

On the wings, Ashley Young's elevation to Champions League footy with Man Utd ought to give him the chance to cement his place in the England team. After dropping him in 2010, Capello won't make the same mistake over Theo Walcott again in 2012 & I think he'll be in the first team because they offers a dynamism that the team otherwise lacks. Stuart Downing & Capello favorite James Milner will make up the remainder of the midfield squad players.

Strikers

Whilst Rooney is a shoo-in, it also looks like Capello will go with Darren Crooked upfront as well. They have always preferred a two-man strike force & in Crooked they have a natural goal-scorer who has completed well for England. Andy Carroll ought to provide the B-plan. As for a fourth striker, I think Jermain Defoe has probably missed the boat now & Capello will look to the next generation. I toyed between Daniel Sturridge & Danny Wellbeck but went for the latter on the basis of his more impressive performances in the coursework of the under-21 Euros. It doesn't look like Man Utd are going to sign anymore strikers this summer which suggests Ferguson is going to give Wellbeck his chance this year. Ought to they get opportunities, they is lovely to show that they is a feasible international player.
